In 2011, he co-founded the Sfântu Gheorghe football club, which was then competing in the Romanian fifth division. They managed to move up a division in their first year, and in 2016 they were already excelling in the second division. Under his presidency, construction of a new stadium in Sfântu Gheorghe began in 2019, with the new 8,500-seater facility inaugurated in October 2021. Sepsi achieved the best top-flight finish in their history in the 2020/21 season, when they finished fourth, while they won the Romanian Cup in 2022 and 2023 and the Romanian Super Cup on two occasions. The Sports Club of Romanian Journalists voted Laszlo the best club manager in 2018.
